Life for the last month has consisted largely of days in the library checking off and crating medieval manuscripts, alternating with days ferrying them to St Cross, unpacking, checking off again, adding and adjusting shelves in the rolling racking, shelving the MSS, relabelling visibly (goodbye pencil on dark grey boxes…) and filling up the new locations database. Only two or three more car loads of medieval books to go!

In between times I empty industrial dehumidifiers and hope the improvements to drainage at the east end will contribute to the drying out of the horrible mouldy wall in my office – not that I’m in it much these days!
